IGDA Summit July 18th and 19th 2011

The inaugural IGDA Summit is quickly approaching, along with a veritable boatload of industry luminaries. Developers will be gathering at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle, WA July 18th-19th for this valuable opportunity to learn from one another’s experiences creating successful careers, games and businesses.

IGDA Global Community Manager Ryan Arndt
Networking activities will be plentiful throughout the week, and don’t forget to join us Sunday evening right before the Summit for an evening of intrigue aboard the IGDA Murder Mystery Dinner Cruise. Details and ticket information are available on the event page.

The tracks will include several speakers from Valve, including Director of Business Development Jason Holtman, as well as speakers from Microsoft, 343 Industries, Take-Two, Zynga, Bungie, Lucasarts, Google, PopCap, and many more. Ed Fries, co-creator of the Xbox Project and CEO of Figureprints, will be moderating a session Monday about how to deal with the success of your studio. Former actor turned game developer Wiley Wiggins, best known for his roles  in films like Dazed and Confused and Waking Life, is speaking on a panel about creatively funding your game project and building a community using Kickstarter. For a complete list of sessions check out the tracks and topics and  schedule online.

Registration for IGDA members is only $199, and a pass including a one-year IGDA membership is $249. It’s also not too late to sign up as a volunteer! If you are interested in volunteering at the Summit either or both days contact megan@igdaseattle.org.
